A NEW SEASON PRIMER with Starlo & Jo

With the days finally lengthening and the weather slowly warming, it’s time to start getting excited about the coming season! Whether you chase trout in the high country, yellowbelly and cod in the rivers and dams, or all manner of saltwater fish down on the coast, Steve ‘Starlo’ Starling and his wife Jo have it covered in their presentation at BOSS OUTDOOR CANBERRA on the evening of Saturday, 13 September.

 

Jo will kick off by briefly describing her fascinating fly fishing journey, touching on the role competition fishing has played in her development as a passionate fly fisher, as well as explaining the benefits of getting more women into all styles of fishing — and how best to do that.

 

Starlo will then fill us in on the highs and lows of his relatively recent “conversion” to the joys of BFS (bait finesse fishing), and explain how this ultra-light baitcaster gear fits into our overall fishing picture, with particular reference to trout, bream, flathead, bass and the various other local and not-so-local species we all look forward to chasing across the next few months. Steve will also give us a quick run through of the new Squidgy soft plastics coming for this season, before wrapping things up with some handy hints and timely tips on taking your trout gear (both fly and conventional) down to the salt and expanding your fishing horizons. The pair will then happily take questions on all topics and hang around for a chat before the night wraps up.
