The BFP Swimbaits Teflon Don Sinking Stickbait is a highly regarded, Australian-handcrafted lure designed specifically for high-speed saltwater casting. Its "Teflon" name refers to its slick, sinking nature and its ability to slide through the water column to reach predators holding just below the surface.

Key Technical Features

  • Heavy-Duty Resin Construction: Unlike traditional timber lures, the Teflon Don is made from a solid, high-density resin. This makes it virtually indestructible against the crushing jaw pressure of species like Giant Trevally (GT).

  • Through-Wire Strength: It features a 2mm stainless steel through-wire system. This ensures that even if the lure body is heavily scarred, the connection between your line and the fish remains secure.

  • Subsurface Action: As a sinking stickbait, it excels in choppy conditions where floating lures might skip across the surface. It can be worked with long, aggressive sweeps for a wide S-action or fast twitches to mimic a panicked baitfish.

  • Aero-Dynamic Weighting: The internal weight distribution is tuned for extreme casting distance, allowing you to reach feeding schools without spooking them with the boat.

Specifications & Hardware

  • Length: 200mm

  • Weight: Approximately 100g (Sinking)

  • Recommended Trebles: BKK Raptor-Z 4/0 or 5/0

  • Recommended Singles: BKK Lone Fighter or Diablo 7/0 to 9/0

  • Target Species: Yellowfin Tuna, Southern Bluefin Tuna, Kingfish, and GTs.

Best For

  • Rough Water: When the wind picks up, the sinking profile keeps the lure "biting" into the water rather than tumbling.

  • Deep Reef Edges: It is perfect for casting over reef drop-offs where you need the lure to sink a few metres into the strike zone before starting your retrieve.
