The Penn Prevail II Rod maintains its stylish Red/Black colour pattern from the previous model but has undergone subtle refinements to enhance overall performance and durability. This surf rod features high-quality Fuji Alconite tangle-free K-guides, an ergonomically shaped rubber grip shrink tube for improved contact feel, a soft rubber gimbal cap, and custom machined aluminium fittings.
The Prevail II is built on an SLS3 blank, which utilizes inner and outer spiral wrap layers of carbon fibre to sandwich middle layers of alternating longitudinal carbon and glass. These spiral wraps ensure that the blank maintains a round cross-section when under load, allowing it to handle higher loads. The middle layers of unidirectional carbon and glass provide the backbone of the rod, combining the strength of glass with the lightweight properties of carbon fibre to deliver a strong, balanced, and thin rod blank.
