Widely regarded as one of the most significant innovations in archery history, the Judo point is a specialised small game and "roving" head designed to prevent arrow loss in thick vegetation.
The Zwickey Judo Point is engineered for archers who enjoy stump shooting, roving, or hunting small game. Its primary mechanical advantage is a set of four spring-loaded steel arms that extend from the base of the point. Upon impact with the ground or a target, these arms swing into action, snagging grass, turf, or dirt to stop the arrow's momentum and prevent it from burrowing under the topsoil. This "explosive" snagging action makes it nearly impossible to lose an arrow, even in long grass. Constructed with Zwickey’s legendary durability, these heads are built to withstand repeated impacts with hard stumps and various terrains without losing their structural integrity.
Spring-Loaded Snagging Arms: Four high-tensile steel springs designed to catch vegetation and prevent the arrow from "snaking" under grass or leaf litter.
Small Game Lethality: Provides a combination of blunt force trauma and grabbing action, making it highly effective for humane small game harvesting.
Aerodynamic Flight: Despite the protruding springs, the head is balanced to fly true, mimicking the flight path of a standard field point for consistent practice.
Indestructible Build Quality: Forged with the same high-carbon steel standards as Zwickey’s famous broadheads, ensuring it can handle high-velocity impacts with wooden stumps.
Versatile Attachment Options: Available in both screw-in models for modern carbon/aluminium shafts and glue-on versions for traditional wooden shafts.
Anti-Bounce Design: The weight distribution and spring tension are calibrated to minimise bounce-offs, ensuring the arrow stays exactly where it hits.
High Visibility: By stopping the arrow on the surface rather than letting it bury, it significantly increases the recovery rate of expensive arrow shafts.
Weight Options: Commonly available in 100 grain, 125 grain, and 145 grain (Condor Taper) to match various arrow spine requirements.
Material: High-carbon steel with tempered spring-wire arms.
Compatibility: 8-32 standard thread for screw-in models; 11/32" or 5/16" for glue-on models.
Quantity: Typically sold in 2-packs or bulk packs.
Roving & Stump Shooting: The ultimate tool for practice sessions in the bush where targets are unpredictable and ground cover is thick.
Small Game Hunting: Ideal for rabbits and other small pests where a broadhead might be excessive or easily lost.
Traditional & Compound Archery: A staple accessory for any archer looking to improve their "distance judging" through field roving.
